Southwest Foster Care, Inc., is a therapeutic foster care agency designed to provide therapeutic family placement and specialized services to youth ages 3 to 18 who have been assessed through the Department of Mental Health and determined eligible to receive services according to the medical necessity criteria.
These youth are in the custody of the State of Oklahoma, referred by the Department of Human Services. Private referrals / placements are considered on an individualized basis. Southwest Foster Care, Inc., strives to have dedicated staff and therapists who care about children and believe they can make a difference.
Our philosophy is that we respect the dignity and freedom of each person and strive to act with fairness, give primary importance to those we serve, provide competent and caring service, and are willing to foster communication and networking with the therapeutic foster care youth, the youth's biological family when deemed appropriate, and with the Department of Human Services.
Our mission is to establish, maintain, and enhance quality foster care service. We strongly promote the therapeutic foster care youth's self-respect and maturity by building or increasing self-esteem through multiple positive experiences and relationships.
In addition, Southwest Foster Care, Inc., provides a structured but nurturing environment that helps to promote responsibility while teaching the youth to control their behavior and make better choices. Southwest Foster Care, Inc., also helps therapeutic foster youth resolve trauma, loss and separation from families or previous placements.
